The "interview" was actually a presentation, I was one of maybe 1-2 dozen people there. At this point, I basically had no idea what it was. I met someone from there at a job fair, they invited me in for an interview. ![]() I had an experience with them 8 years ago. They have a ton of lawsuits filed against them, usually because their sales people get a bit too nosey and try and get people to stick all their savings into it. Wikipedia says they average sales earnings were ~6000.īasically anything where you're recruiting people is a pyramid scheme, but especially in this case since your profits just go to those above you, you're netting everyone above you more money than you'll ever get, while selling something that's not especially good or valuable. It's stupid and won't make you much money unless you recruit and screw over your friends. Since it's hard to sell insurance, especially since those recruited probably arent the best sales people, it's more lucrative to just recruit people to do it for you and take your percentage. Sales people also have to pay a monthly fee. Salesreps get comission, and a percentage of the sale is given to their recruiter, their recruiters recruiter. It's nothing special or unique, or even that fishy or terrible, like Herbalife selling whatever protein powders etc. Their sales reps sell financial products, insurance and mutual funds, a lot of stuff, but mostly insurance. I'd say Primerica fits closer to the second category.
