Three of the moons influence each other in an interesting way. Why are Jupiter’s Galilean moons geologically active? Liquid water from inside Europa causes the ice to move, erasing many of the impact craters. But the debris from Io’s active volcanoes has covered old impact craters. Why are numerous impact craters found on Ganymede and Callisto but not on Io or Europa? All of them have had many impacts over the past billions of years. Why are numerous impact craters found on Ganymede and Callisto but not on Io or Europa? “None of the topography is more than a couple of hundred meters tall,” Philips said. First, spectroscopic measurements have showed that the surface is covered in water ice, and that it is smoother than a cue ball. The Europan surface also offers evidence for liquid-water oceans. What evidence supports the hypothesis that Europa has an active surface and liquid sub surface ocean? Why are few craters seen on Europa? The icy crust of Europa shifts atop an underlying ocean of water, which erases craters from the surface. Why are no craters seen on Io? The volcanoes and geologically active mountains on Io erase craters from the surface. Solar radiation reflected of Jupiter’s surface provides a power source for geological activity. What causes the geological activity seen on Europa and Io?ĭ. The reason for its continued activity is due to tidal heating – a continual flexing and stretching of the Europa caused by the shape of its orbit and gravitational pull from Jupiter, Io, and Ganymede. However, Europa is smaller than our Moon (Table1), yet it is still geologically active. This extreme geologic activity is the result of tidal heating from friction generated within Io’s interior as it is pulled between Jupiter and the other Galilean moons-Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. With over 400 active volcanoes, Io is the most geologically active object in the Solar System. As a result, some of the icy moons contain interiors warm enough to host oceans of liquid water, and in the case of the rocky moon Io, tidal heating melts rock into magma. In a process called tidal heating, gravitational tugs from Jupiter’s moons and the planet itself stretch and squish the moons enough to warm them. What is tidal heating? Which moon has a thick atmosphere made mostly of nitrogen? Which forces cause tidal heating of Jupiter’s moon? Which statement about Jupiter’s moon Io is true? It is the most volcanically active body in our solar system. Which statement about Jupiter’s moon Io is true? These tidal forces generate the heat that drives Io’s intense volcanic activity, according to NASA. The volcanic moon is Jupiter’s third-largest and the innermost Galilean satellite, it finds itself caught in a gravitational tug-of-war between Jupiter and two nearby Jovian moons Europa and Ganymede. What causes the heating of Io that gives rise to volcanic activity? The generation of heat due to friction produced by the strong tidal forces exerted by a very massive parent body on a body moving about it in an elliptical orbit. Io has a similar mass and size as the Moon, but Io is the most geologically active body in the Solar System. Orbital and rotational energy are dissipated as heat in the crust of the moon. Tidal heating of Io (also known as tidal working) occurs through the tidal friction processes between Jupiter and its moon. Why does Io experiences strong internal tidal heating? Herto – a 160,000-year-old partial skull discovered in1997 in Herto, Ethiopia.Important specimens: Early modern Homo sapiens This suggests that the Cro-Magnons had migrated from a warmer climate and had a relatively recent African ancestry. Cro-Magnon skeletons have proportions similar to those of modern Africans rather than modern Europeans. This adult male represents the oldest known skull of a modern human from western Europe. Cro-Magnon 1 – a 32,000-year-old skull discovered in 1868 in Cro-Magnon rockshelter, Les Eyzies, France. The skeletons were taken to a local cemetery for burial but later investigations indicated that the skeletons were actually up to 10,000 years old. A workman digging a trench in a hillside found a cave that had been blocked by rock but after clearing away the debris he found 17 skeletons. The first Aurignac fossils were accidentally found in 1852. Aurignac – skull discovered in Aurignac, France. This skull lacks the typically northern Asian features found in modern populations from those regions, lending support to popular theories that such features only arose in the last 8000 years. Age is uncertain, but at least 15,000 years old. Liujiang – a skull discovered in 1958 in Guanxi province, South China. Important specimens: Late early modern Homo sapiens Key specimens that reveal an evolutionary transition from archaic to modern Homo sapiens include Florisbad cranium, LH18 from Laetoli, Omo 1 and 2 from Omo-Kibish, Herto skull from Ethiopia and Skhul 5 from Israel. Late surviving populations of archaic Homo sapiens and Homo heidelbergensis lived alongside early modern Homo sapiens before disappearing from the fossil record by about 100,000 years ago. Some suggest the name Homo helmei for these intermediate specimens that represent populations on the brink of becoming modern. There is, however, some difficulty in placing many of the transitional specimens into a particular species because they have a mixture of intermediate features which are especially apparent in the sizes and shapes of the forehead, brow ridge and face. African fossils provide the best evidence for the evolutionary transition from Homo heidelbergensis to archaic Homo sapiens and then to early modern Homo sapiens. It was wise to work it the way that they did. At times it felt like the actor was merely present on set, but there wasn’t much more for him to do. Gabe Reyes – Unlike his brother, Gabe’s role was only supporting to serve for an origin story. While we’ve seen his story end in SHIELD’s current season, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him come back soon or get the rumored spinoff. Mac gained the GR abilities briefly making us really see how desperate this demon is. And he gets a face to face with the demon itself. His origin even brought in who we can only assume by his attire and motorcycle is Johnny Blaze’s Ghost Rider. That being said, Robbie’s Ghost Rider is the best thing about this show so far. I was completely unfamiliar with him except I knew he had a cool car. I never thought I’d like the Robbie Reyes version. Robbie Reyes / Ghost Rider – let’s get this out of the way now. The Agents: We are getting more of the same here with slightly adjusted roles, but they are less of a focus this season, and seem more of a supporting cast to those with powers. If you don’t want spoilers, then scroll to the bottom paragraph for my rating. Read my spoiler filled review of the first half of this season. Season 4 Part 1 of Agents of SHIELD focuses on Ghost Rider, and it made me enjoy a take I wasn’t sure about. So, how does Robbie fit in with the Ghost Rider tradition? We learn that in Legend.Francisco Francavilla’s Ghost Rider promo art. So far Smith has kept this Ghost Rider grounded in his area, restricting the demonic possession angle, and that works for Engines of Vengeance. Smith and Moore waste no time turning a bad situation into something so much worse, and when the apocalypse comes, it’s suitably devastating. Long time readers will have suspicions about the Doctor Zabo employing a squad of heavily armed mercenaries, and they’d be right, as is rapidly revealed. Provided you’re not fanatical about any deviation from Ghost Rider’s skeletal design, Moore’s new stark and pointy version has a visual style, and his hulked-out monsters look amazing. His people are stretched and stylised, but he has one hell of a way with power, action, and dynamism. It takes some while to become used to Tradd Moore’s art. He’s now connected to the car to the point of being able to teleport instantly to it. Smith also modifies Ghost Rider’s powers. Felipe Smith over-eggs Robbie’s situation, a disabled brother taking things too far into melodrama, but he otherwise establishes a place in desperate need of cleaning up, and a formidable villain also with a dual personality intent on making the neighbourhood even worse. A shocking opening chapter concludes with Robbie being shot dead. How bad is it? Well, throw Peter Parker’s school bully Flash Thompson into Robbie’s high school and he’d not make morning break. Ghost Rider’s powers are this time provided to Robbie Reyes, seemingly the only actual student in his class interested in studying, and working part time time as a car mechanic trying to do the right thing in a feral Los Angeles neighbourhood where local thugs operate in a lawless environment. The redesign trades that for a pimped-up hot rod, so now Ghost Rider himself is largely hidden, driving a car.Īccept that, and this is a spirited reboot. Through decades of hardly sparkling stories the character’s greatest strength was the fantastic visual of the skeletal figure with a flaming skull riding a motorcycle. It’s difficult to work out the thinking behind this updated version of Ghost Rider introduced in 2013. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Packers keep Newman as a 10th offensive lineman, given his versatility and experience – two things the Packers covet – but from a numbers standpoint, coupled with Newman’s play, I couldn’t keep him. When it comes to Rhyan or Newman, Rhyan has been the far more steady player, and at this stage of their careers, as a second-year third-round pick, Rhyan has a higher ceiling. As recently as Thursday, Jones was taking some first-team reps at left tackle. I don’t think Jones is quite a roster lock, but I do think he’s close–the team just really likes him and his potential, especially with uncertainty around tackle in 2024. I believe this conversation comes down to Caleb Jones, Sean Rhyan, and Royce Newman competing for two open spots. However, LaFleur also mentioned earlier in the week that if need be, the team is comfortable going into the season with just three tight ends, in part because of their depth at receiver, along with also pointing out that they are willing to use a sixth offensive lineman at times as well. This is something that Brian Gutekunst said the team would be monitoring. There is the possibility that the Packers add a tight end on the waiver market once roster cutdowns start to take place around the NFL. Keep: Luke Musgrave, Tucker Kraft, Josiah Deguara Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave (88) catches a pass against Seattle Seahawks during their preseason football game Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. Similarly to Toure, another seventh-round pick, I think the Packers keep DuBose. The question for me is if the Packers will keep Grant DuBose as the seventh receiver, but in his limited action, he was able to make a few plays in the passing game, show he’s a willing blocker, and took on some special teams contributions as well. He has seen his fair share of snaps with the starting offense this summer, and if they were willing to roster him in 2022 as the seventh receiver in what was a much more experienced room compared to this one, I have to think they’ll do the same in 2023. Although he has apparently leapfrogged Samori Toure on the depth chart, I still expect Toure to be on this team. Malik Heath is a lock at this point, following his start against Seattle, where he again impressed as a pass catcher and a blocker. Keep: Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Samori Toure, Malik Heath, Dontayvion Wicks, Grant DuBose Green Bay Packers wide receiver Malik Heath (18) celebrates after catching a long pass The Packers either have to be fine with adding Taylor to the roster at some point or okay with potentially losing him because after his third elevation, he either has to be signed to the active roster or released, allowing him to potentially sign elsewhere. But with that said, this is only a temporary solution. the ability to elevate players from the practice squad alleviates the need to carry three running backs. However, from a roster construction standpoint. He’s not flashy, but he checks the boxes in regards to what the Packers are looking for in the third running back. I have little doubt that Patrick Taylor is the third running back, given his impact on special teams, as a blocker, and in the passing game. I’ve gone back and forth on this one, deciding whether to keep two running backs or three. 8, 2022, at Ray Nitschke Field in Ashwaubenon, Wis. On average, you should charge around $40 – $60 per hour as a drone photographer. There are 3 main things you should consider when setting prices on how much you should charge for drone photography. How Much You Should Charge For Drone Photography? The longer it takes to finish the final video product, the higher the total price is going to be. The prices above are including video editing. Such services are most needed at events such as weddings, private parties, public events or commercial videos. They could require more knowledge and expertise which makes them more expensive. Video projects are usually more time-consuming than photos. Let’s take a closer look at typical drone video service prices. The service would include fully edited and rendered video. How Much Does Drone Videography Cost?Ī 1-2 minute length of drone video can cost anywhere from $150 to $900. The higher-priced packages usually will also include aerial video clips. If a shoot is longer than expected, your drone pilot may set hourly rates of $50-$100 per extra hour, according to their pricing. In most cases, freelance real estate drone photographers will have their fixed pricing packages. It is recommended to ask for their portfolio of previous work. If you are hiring a drone pilot for your real estate project, look for one that specializes in the field and has previous experience. Expect to pay more for higher-quality photos because you can see the difference in the final result. With the combination of both experiences, you guarantee that you are getting the best result possible. Not only how to use one but also knowing all the local laws of flying because there are lots of zones where it‘s forbidden to fly a drone. Make sure that they understand how to properly use the aerial device. Ability to professionally control the drone. It’s also useful to check the reviews and find information from their past customers. The best decision is to check their portfolio to get a sense of their style and skills. There are two main factors to consider when hiring a drone photographer: If the photoshoot lasts longer, there could be an extra charge of $50 – $70 per hour.ĭon’t forget that drone photography rates vary depending on various factors. On average, a 60 to 90-minute drone photography session is going to cost around $250 – $350 (Source: Thumbtack). The price includes photo editing as well. Unforgivable stuttering and hitches layered on top of that lack of feedback only makes the experience worse. There are few video or audio cues for when a command has been successfully delivered, and the sluggish units, who mostly wander about instead of snapping to attention, rarely give the impression that they are actually doing anything. The lack of instruction is further hampered by the dearth of feedback in the game. A simple objective like “take a squad of orcs out of the dungeon” would become a 15-minute nightmare of trying to search through the vindictively meager help menu trying to find a button or command to tell the orcs to GTFO (turns out you need to manually scoop them up in your giant evil hand and unceremoniously drop them at the door). The first several missions largely function as tutorials where the player is tasked with certain objectives (create this type of trap, train this unit, station guards here, that sort of thing) but the game is almost maliciously opaque about how to accomplish these goals. Not all of the jokes hit their mark, and occasionally the narrator’s more long-winded speeches can bog down the pace (not letting you proceed from an area until the narrator finishes a spiel you’ve already read in the subtitles), but for the most part, it is a noble attempt. The aim of the present study was to explore the prevalence and clinical significance of NTIS in a Chinese cohort with SLE. Nonthyroidal illness syndrome (NTIS also known as low triiodothyronine syndrome or euthyroid sick syndrome) is also prevalent in SLE and characterized by decreased serum T3, normal to low thyroxine (T4), and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels. Importantly, dyslipidemia is associated with disease activity (e.g., kidney damage and cardiovascular disease), and is closely related to the long-term prognosis of SLE patients. Dyslipidemia, characterized as increased total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and/or decreased high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels in the serum, is prevalent in SLE patients with an incidence ranging between 18.1% and 75%. Although endocrinologists have been tempted to correct NTIS by TH supplementation, there is at present insufficient evidence that this is beneficial. A fascinating role for TH metabolism in innate immune cells, including neutrophils and monocytes/macrophages, was reported in recent years, but there is no evidence at this early stage that this may be a determinant of susceptibility to infections. Finally, the role of inflammatory pathways in these non-systemic changes has begun to be clarified. These differential changes now have a solid basis in molecular studies on organ-specific TH transporters, receptors and deiodinases. Moreover, both experimental animal and clinical studies have shown that tissue TH concentrations during NTIS do not necessarily reflect serum low TH concentrations and may decrease, remain unaltered, or even increase according to the organ and type of illness studied. In recent years, it has become clear that (parenteral) feeding in patients with critical illness should be taken into account as a major determinant not only of NTIS but also of clinical outcome. Ever since, NTIS has remained an intriguing phenomenon not only because of the robustness of the decrease in serum triiodothyronine (T3), but also by its clear correlation with morbidity and mortality. The non-thyroidal illness syndrome (NTIS) was first reported in the 1970s as a remarkable ensemble of changes in serum TH (TH) concentrations occurring in probably any severe illness. The capabilities of the DeWalt are limited by the small motor and hose diameter. Because there’s also a cordless option and this vac is so light, you won’t have a problem using it in a crawl space, a tight attic, or an outbuilding that needs a little tidying, like a potting shed. But it’s a real champ with little messes around the garage, in the house, or in the basement. This is a much smaller vacuum than the Ridgid models (it doesn’t even have wheels), and it doesn’t match their capabilities on larger areas. If you’re looking for something smaller and more portable, we like the DeWalt DCV581H 20V 2-Gallon Cordless/Corded Wet/Dry Vac. Ridgid gives the vac minor upgrades and tweaks every few years, so the models have changed, but the core positives of the vac have always remained constant. The 12-gallon Ridgid is the vac I saw most on job sites and used the most often throughout a 10-year construction career, and it’s the one I’ve owned at home for years. And extra filters, hoses, and nozzles are easy to get in an emergency, as long as you have a Home Depot nearby. This Ridgid vac is regularly sold on the shelves of Home Depot (where it has thousands of mostly five-star online reviews). They all store on the vac and out of the way-a smarter design than that of many competitors’ accessory caddies. The Ridgid 12-Gallon NXT Wet/Dry Vac HD1200 comes with two wand extensions and three nozzles (one for general use, another for wet spills, and a small one for detail work). And with its four casters, well-positioned handle, and manageable weight, this model isn’t that difficult to drag through a basement or clunk up a flight of stairs. This wet/dry vac (aka “shop vac” 1) has a large capacity and a powerful motor for sucking up debris. |
